The morning after: Samsung introduces the more durable Galaxy Z Fold 3 with S Pen support

I don’t sell on folding phones. They are expensive, of dubious durability and – at least so far – offer no compelling reason for the shape factor. Having said all that, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Samsung’s new folding shell, is almost enough to change my mind.

Discovered along with the Galaxy Z Fold 3, which turns into an unusual almost tablet screen, it’s the $ 1,000 Flip 3 that made me think about buying a foldable one.

Maybe it’s because Samsung seems to be trying to address those issues of mine. Both phones are cheaper (if not cheap) compared to its predecessors, with the Z Fold 3 now $ 200 less than the Z Fold 2 was on launch.

After a broken screen debacle of the original Galaxy Fold, Samsung wants to emphasize the durability of its new premium phone, which it says is 80 percent stronger. I’m not sure how this increase was measured so precisely, but with IPX8 water resistance, a new stronger aluminum hinge and frame, and Gorilla Glass Victus coating, it sounds sharper, at least on paper.

The By switching 3 there may be technological advances, with support for the S Pen and a camouflage selfie camera on the screen that can be camouflaged, but the Z Flip 3 caught my attention when I had a chance to play with phones at one London pre-premiere event. The Flip series looks like a foldable device for now, combining the way we use our 2021 smartphones with foldable screens that, let’s be honest, aren’t quite perfect yet.

Samsung has expanded the external screen so that it works better for checking notifications or using cameras without opening Flip 3. Not that I need an excuse to open a satisfying hinge on things. I will wait, however, for a full review of Cherlynn Low on both phones, before I start subscribing. Expect them very soon.

In addition to the foldable, Samsung also had two wearable items to discover. These are the fruits of his renewed collaboration with Google. For clarification, Samsung is getting rid of the “Active” brand from its existing line – the Watch 4 is the spiritual successor to the Watch Active 2 (there was no Active 3), while adding the nickname “Classic” to the previous “regular” tracking line. Big differences between the two? A rotating frame and a hundred dollars.

The move comes after Apple suffered a major court loss in the dispute.

Apple has settled its 2019 lawsuit with Corellium, a company that builds virtual iOS devices used by security researchers to find bugs on iPhones and other iOS devices. The terms of the settlement have not been revealed, but the agreement comes after Apple suffered a major court loss in the dispute in late 2020.

Corellium software allows users to run virtual iPhones on a PC browser, giving them deep access to iOS without the need for a physical device. In addition to accusing Corellium of infringing its copyright, Apple claimed that the company sells its products without distinction and endangers the security of the platform.

The code inside iOS 15 beta better explains how you’ll be able to locate all the missing AirPods from your iPhone, at least if you have Pro or Max versions.

9to5Mac says these AirPods will be connected to your Apple ID and use Bluetooth to help you find them when they disappear. Even if they are not connected to your phone, you should be able to find them on the map via the Find My network.
