There was a moment when we all thought Dwayne “The Rock Johnson” would join Marvel Film Universe.
After the first The Avengers in the movie, Marvel wanted to catch everyone with a strong star. No one knows what roles they played together with Kevin Feige. Whatever they talked about never came true because MCU lost to Warner Brothers and the DC Comics film universe.
Hiram Garcia, president of Johnson ‘s seven – dollar manufacturing company, told Collider: “[Dwayne Johnson] and Kevin have a great relationship, and we’ve flirted around a few ideas before, but nothing serious. ”
Although Johnson and Feige are in two different companies, Garcia has found that the two media moguls respect each other, ”he says. “There’s mutual admiration for what we’ve all been doing, and what Kevin has built there is truly amazing,” he said.
Johnson is now Black Adam, and his character could change the balance of power now that the Superman franchise is on break. The film has finished production and will be released in theaters in July 2022. Black Adam will introduce members of the American Society of Justice: Noah Centineo will play Atom Smasher, Aldis Hodge is Hawkman, Quintessa Swindell (Cyclone) and Pierce Brosnan as (Doctor of Destiny).
While the synopsis of the film is secret, in the comics Teth-Adam, called Black Adam, is summed up as a corrupt ancient Egyptian predecessor Shazam. The character made his way to modern times to challenge the hero and his associates from the Marvel family. However, in 2021, Black Adam is seen less as a stern villain and more as an antihero.
I wonder what Fiege and Johnson talked about in the roles. Some actors have played minor roles in both universes (like Jimon Hounsou), but could Johnson be a part of both universes in the future?
What do you think?
