Virgin Galactic is resuming selling space tickets at a price of $ 450,000 per seat

Now you have the opportunity to buy a place on one of Virgin Galactic’s space tours – provided you can afford $ 450,000 for it. The company reopened ticket sales after less than a month Richard Branson, its founder, took off with other “mission experts” for Virgin Galactic’s first space flight. He published it alongside his own financial results for the second quarter of the year, which also said the private space corporation “has made significant progress toward launching commercial services in 2022.”

Virgin Galactic offers you three consumer options to choose from. In addition to one seat that costs almost half a million, it also sells a package of more seats for groups and offers ransoms for the entire flight. The current iteration of the VSS Unity spacecraft can accommodate four passengers next to two pilots, so the sale of full flights is not out of the realm of possibility. Virgin Galactic will prioritize its “significant early hand-raising list,” though it will create the following priority list for customers interested in booking future flights.

As CNBC notes that members of the Italian Air Force will be on the next planned flight. After that, the company will take a break until the middle of 2022 in order to renew VMS Eve, its jet-powered carrier aircraft. Since there will be another scheduled test flight after that period, that means Virgin Galactic is once again postponing its first official flight due to paying astronauts. Earlier this year the company was hoping launch its first commercial flight in early 2022, but that has now been said CNBC that his new goal is sometime in the third quarter of 2022.
