Google’s first Nest Cam and battery-powered doorbell can be installed almost anywhere in your home, and you can even connect them to a wired power source if you wish. Battery life depends on how many devices recorded events and factors such as temperature and settings. Apple has described in detail the new features aimed at child safety. With the release of iOS 15, watchOS 8 and macOS Monterey later this year, the company says it will introduce various child protection features in messages, photos and Siri.
For starters, the Messages app will include new notifications that will alert children, as well as their parents, when they send or receive sexually explicit photos. When someone sends an inappropriate picture to a child, the app will blur it and display a few warnings. Apple will also introduce new software tools in iOS and iPadOS that will allow the company to detect when someone uploads content to iCloud that shows children involved in sexually explicit acts. Instead of scanning photos when they are uploaded to the cloud, the system will use a database of “known” images on the device. These and other features will arrive on the devices later this year. President Biden’s latest executive order sets the goal that half of all new vehicles sold by 2030 have some form of emission-free driving, whether it’s a clean electric vehicle, a plug-in hybrid vehicle or a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle. The move aims not only to promote clean transportation and limit climate change, but also to help the U.S. “surpass” the Chinese auto industry, which is rapidly switching to electrified vehicles.
