Production was completed on DCs Black Adam movie, and it is it’s a damn time to see Dwayne Johnson as a titular anti-hero. Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (with whom Hiram Garcia and Johnson worked Jungle cruise) and written by Rory Haines, Black Adam is the main antagonist of the superhero Shazam and sometimes an enemy, sometimes an ally of the League of Justice.
In a recent interview with Seven Bucks Productions, President Hiram Garcia talked to Collider about his excitement about the film and “You won’t just see him use super speed for a moment and then he stops,” Garcia said. “This is part of his arsenal.”
Warner Bros. has published several Movies with a rating of R in DCEU, Black Adam has a grade of PG-13. However, Garcia doesn’t want fans to think this will affect the story in any way. “It simply came to our notice then [the PG-13 rating] limit our number of murders, ”he said emphatically. “There are a lot of people who could start living in a movie about Black Adam, and they may not be at the end of the movie.”
As for the film, Black Adam exists in the same world as Shazam! But Garcia doesn’t explain how the character is associated with the larger universe, but he did mention it, “when Black Adam appears, no matter what universe you are in the DC world, you’ll feel it.”
Given that the Justice League is no longer the main focus of the DC film universe, does that mean the balance will be able to change soon? Garcia said this: “Now we are definitely focusing on building our world. Obviously, Shazam! it exists in the same universe as Black Adam, and there are some other crossover elements you might feel in our film. As for the details of how they all come together, it’s still being worked out. ”
This information provides hope that we will eventually see Black Adam and Shazam clashing with each other. The aesthetics of it will be interesting to see Zachary Levi vs. The Rock.
Black Adam It is scheduled to appear in theaters on July 29, 2022
