Mario Kart Live: Home Circle is a good way to spice up your regular racing competitions. It brings virtual racing action to the real world with little go-karts zooming around your home on tracks you create yourself. A single set is quite expensive at $ 100 – especially considering you need a Nintendo switch to use it at all – but now you can take any Mario or Luigi set by Amazon for only $ 75. It’s a return to the lowest price of the game, so it’s time to grab it if you’ve been eyeing it for a while.
Both Home circle sets up the doors you set around your home to build your own racetrack, as well as a card equipped with a camera operated by Mario or Luigi. However, one set only comes with one car, so you’ll have to complete it if you want to race IDPs with your friend or family member (single player mode is also supported). You will need some space to set up the track – approximately 10 x 12 feet – but once the track is set up, you can use your Switch’s Joy-Cons to operate the map.
You can change your track by simply moving the door, but the game will make things more challenging by racing underwater, in an 8-bit world, and more. Obstacles in the game will affect your very real kart by slowing it down or speeding it up, so you will probably encounter new challenges very quickly while racing even if your IRL track stays the same. And as in the traditional Mario Kart, you will collect items as you move along the path. Home circle is a compelling addition for the stubborn Mario Kart fans, but also those who want a new way to experience the game.
