Sony and developer Sucker Punch have revealed a few more details about what’s next for Jin Sakai , extended edition . They also released a great new trailer for the upcoming version, which will appear on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on August 20th.
You will be able to explore a brand new island called Iki. Yin learns that a Mongol tribe led by shaman Ankhsar Khatun settled there. Khatun “is not only a conqueror of nations, but also a shepherd of souls. And the danger she poses to Jin and his people is similar to the one they faced,” senior Sucker Punch writer Patrick Downs .
Iki is a “land of lawlessness of robbers and criminals” that has been out of samurai control for decades. Yin will run into pirates, smugglers and “crazy monks” on the island. They will explore haunted caves and learn new techniques.
The expanded story will also go deeper into Jin’s painful past. “With everything that happened last year, we didn’t accidentally want to tell a healing story either,” Downs wrote. “And we thought this was going to be a unique and compelling challenge for Jin.”
