Apple bosses were pushing to get employees back in the office in September, but they may have changed the tune due to the resurgence of COVID-19 cases. According to Bloomberg, the technology giant is delaying its return to the office by about a month and will not expect employees to start work by October at the latest by October at the latest. This is reportedly a response to the recent rise in coronavirus cases due to the spread of a highly transmissible variant of Delta in the US and around the world.
The technical giant originally wanted to implement a hybrid arrangement in the workplace starting in September, with most employees expected to show up at the office at least three days a week. “Video conferencing has certainly narrowed the distance between us, but there are things it just can’t repeat,” Tim Cook wrote in an internal email.
