Are you more comfortable singing behind a virtual personality than on a real stage? Your reality show has arrived. Pitchfork i AV Club reports that Fox is launching the “first” series of avatar singing competitions, Another “yes, which will bring celebrity judges together in real life to evaluate the performances of amateur singers who use avatars to “invent”.

You will probably recognize the panel of judges. Canadian artists Grimes (pictured above) and Alanis Morrissette will join Will.i.am and Nick Lachey in criticizing the music, while the affair will be led by Emmy winner Rocsi Diaz. Another “yes debuts sometime in the fall.

It’s an unusual concept, but not necessarily a bad one. In theory, this could help young talents overcome anxiety or self-esteem problems by using an avatar as a supplement. It’s certainly a fitting show for a technologically smart artist like Grimes. It’s just a question of whether the audience enjoys the concept or not. Anonymizing music shows like Masked singer they were hits, but still involve the physical presence of the participants – there’s a chance that viewers may not be so thrilled with the digital concerts.
