So, what are M. Night Shyamalan movies afraid of?
Each of Shyamalan’s films deals with a unique fear – whether it’s something being displayed on screen or an implied problem behind the camera. No matter what it is, they all have one thing in common: loss of control. Each individual filmmaker deals with the fear of losing control. That they took something from you. That goes back to 1999 Sixth sense with dr. Malcolm (Bruce Willis) and continues through each subsequent film. Whether it’s the environment (Event), the people in your life (Village, visit), or even your superhero franchise (Glass), it’s all in what happens when you no longer control your life or destiny.
Old it arrives in theaters on July 23 and I’m sure it won’t be a complete decline.
