Facebook and AT&T team up for augmented reality experiences

Their first AR collaboration promotion is for Space jam: a new legacy. You can use your phone to bring Lola Bunny, Daffy Duck and Tweety into your space , AT & T’s Instagram profile or Facebook. You can use the front or rear camera to take pictures with them or create a video with a custom introduction from Bugs Bunny. AT&T says its 5G network can improve “performance and reliability for any AR experience,” with more vivid graphics and shorter load times.

The Facebook partnership is one of a series of 5G collaborations that AT&T will discuss at Wednesday’s event. The supplier has partnered with Boingo to bring 5G + (aka ) to airports across the United States, including John F. Kennedy, LaGuardia, Chicago O’Hare, Los Angeles Airport, and Denver International Airport. This year, they plan to introduce 5G + in seven airports and 25 by the end of 2022, with the goal of reducing network congestion. AT&T, which suggests that you can use the network to quickly download a bunch of TV show episodes just before the flight, is already 5G at Tampa International Airport.

AT&T has also partnered with the Bookful app for 5G-powered AR reading experiences with characters from children’s books popping up from the screen. In addition, he is working with Warner Bros., Ericsson, Qualcomm, Dreamscape and Wever on a proven concept of the Harry Potter virtual reality experience called Chaos at Hogwarts.
