Clubhouse, the often cloned with invitation only audio chat platform that recently extended to Android, has seemingly lacked a seemingly fundamental feature present in almost every other social media app: the ability to send messages directly to other users. But not anymore! On Wednesday, the company announced that the Clubhouse app will now support DMs in the form of a new one Return channel messaging function.
The backchannel will also function as a private messaging system for both 1: 1 interactions and group conversations. With it, Clubhouse envisions users using it to privately coordinate among channel presenters, ask sensitive questions, or privately thank participants outside of a general group discussion, or just blow out loud with their friends.
