Google simplifies how users back up and sync their files. It’s a company rolling new Drive for desktop application on Mac and Windows.

The desktop drive will replace the Backup and Sync application (which Google Drive app for computers in 2018) as well , which is for business users. Given that Google Workspace is now , it doesn’t make much sense to have separate synchronization methods.
