Twitter’s extended NFL contract adds Spaces live conversations with players

Twitter has renewed its once again to deal with the NFL, and this time there are more than just video shows and Moments to delight football fans. New announced the multi-year extension includes a commitment to produce over 20 live emissions Spaces audio chats for the 2021 season. You’ll hear players and “other NFL talents” talk about regular season matches, as well as major events like the draft and the Super Bowl.

The new agreement also includes new moments and more polls. You can also expect familiar experiences that include field coverage and moments.

This could be welcome news if you want to follow football on Twitter between matches, not just during or after matches.

This can be especially important for Twitter as well. This is the first sports league of any kind on a social network to produce sponsored Spaces – the feature has just grown in both credibility and revenue. It also helps Twitter compete against the Clubhouse, which is featured his NFL contract in April. Don’t be surprised if Twitter rushes ashore, Spaces is negotiating with other leagues, especially if Clubhouse becomes a bigger threat.
