Now that vaccines against COVID-19 are available, companies and offices have begun asking their employees to enter the office a handful of times a week. It can be a challenge to schedule meetings hybrid workplace environments, however, when people are physically present in office spaces on different days and at different times. That’s why Google updated RSVP function for Calendar that will make it more suitable for flexible workplace models.
The technical giant has introduced new RSVP options for invitations in the Calendar. Now, when you click “Yes” on the meeting invitation in the Calendar interface, you’ll see a drop-down menu that gives you a way to indicate whether you’re attending it virtually or in person. Both the meeting organizer and guests will see how attendees intend to show up when they look at the details of the event. People who click “Yes” next to their names will have icons that match their selection.
Google said the new RSVP choices are not shared with users on other platforms, such as Microsoft Outlook. Also, it will currently only appear on Google Calendar, although the company says the options will be available in Gmail calls “soon.”
