BMW’s futuristic electric scooter is straight out of the anime

When we saw BMW’s CE 04 electric scooter concept last year, it looked like something was drawn straight from a science fiction movie. Now the company has introduced final consumer version CE 04, and although it has lost a bit of its fantastic blade, it still looks like a vehicle in which it would be like at home Akira or A ghost in a shell. Focused on city driving, the CE 04 has a 10.25-inch LCD screen (which is larger than what most cars have!), Reaches up to 81 miles and a top speed of 75 km / h. It will be available in 2022 for about $ 16,000. That’s twice the price Electric Vespa, but it is also a far slower vehicle intended for even more casual users.

Just looking at the CE 04 clearly shows what BMW is trying to achieve. It’s a fresh new design that should appeal to people who are interested in EVs, but may not have the money or space for an actual electric car. It is charged with a standard power plug or EV cables, and BMW claims it can be charged quickly after it is completely discharged in one hour and 40 minutes with a Level 3 power connection. However, even if you do not have the finest charging setting, BMW says that a standard home outlet can charge in four hours and 20 minutes.

While we’re still waiting for more details on CE 04 prices and optional accessories, you can expect a reduced power output model with a range of around 100km (100km). This cheaper model will also spit out between 15 and 30 horsepower, while the standard can reach 42 horsepower. Both versions should be well equipped for city traffic, with the possibility of reaching a speed of 31 km / h in 2.6 seconds.
