Roblox is in a hurry to sign official music contracts afterwards A $ 200 million lawsuit due to alleged copyright infringement. TechCrunch reports which Roblox has discovered a team with Sony Music that will bring more of the record label’s performers to the gaming platform. The two will collaborate on “innovative musical experiences” beyond what you’ve seen so far, including Lil Nas X Concert in November and Zara Larsson’s fun party in May.

The companies did not say what events you could expect or when you could see them.

This is not Roblox’s first such deal. Gaming giant achieved a similar agreement with BMG in June. However, it represents Roblox’s largest music pact to date, leaving Universal and Warner as the only two heavyweight categories not to sign agreements.

Roblox may not have much choice but to keep negotiating. The music industry has sued Roblox for allegedly doing nothing to stop players from creating virtual boomboxes that stream copyrighted music. That does not include Robloxcore and other music designed for game worlds. The developer claims to display the transmitted music and perform defenses against bullies, but that was clearly not enough for labels convinced that Roblox allows piracy. Offers could help Roblox persuade Sony, BMG and others to withdraw the lawsuit or at least mitigate the blow.
